Ethiopia, situated in the Horn of Africa, has diverse land use and cover types, influenced by factors like topography, climate change, socio-economic activities, deforestation and land degradation,
over utilization of land resources population growth, and governmental policies. The absence of
sustainable land use plans and management implementation leads to environmental resource
dwindling, affecting food and water systems, enhancing water scarcity, food insecurity and poverty
traps in the country. Ethiopia's agricultural sector, including coffee farming, is facing significant
challenges due to land degradation, impacting food and water supply systems in the country.
